20km Route Description
The 20km is tough, technical and has a hard climb on a mountain. You start out on jeep track and quickly began climbing turning onto single track to run along the escarpment before descending into easy running territory. This is not for long as your next climb takes you into the rocky gorge near bush camp. The runners then head towards the challenging climb where there is no path going up (certainly My Road Less Travelled)
Once you’ve ascended the mountain there are fabulous views to be enjoyed on both the left and right, before a technical descent. Thereafter is an easy run into bush camp with some single track running before your next climb on the other side of the farm and a leap over a river crossing.
10km Route Description
The 14km follows the 20km route for most of the way with technical climbs and undulating routes . They can expect scrambling over the rocky gorge and will make their way on a steep incline up the mountain. This is on a typical Nina’s Road Not Travelled, with a lot of clambering over rocks and the descent is also technical so take it easy on the mountain before descending into bush camp where the route is runnable before their last climb to descend into the finish area. Keep your eye out for game. This is a good mix of jeep track, single track and roads less travelled.
5km Route Description
The 5km is suitable for novices and children. It starts off on a rocky jeep track and then turns left to begin the first climb. This takes you onto an awesome piece of single track winding over the hills before you have a technical descent.
It can get a little tricky in this area. Thereafter from here you will have another steep uphill before you descend to have a bit of my road less travelled typical no path before your final sprint to the finish The terrain is rocky and challenging but it makes for a beautiful day out, be sure to keep your eyes open for game. Expected winning time 26 min. Follow orange tape.
